Malaysia: Car Sales Drop 0.8% in August 2008

The year on year drop was negligible, at only some 0.8% but the total industry volume (TIV) fell a significant 12.5% to 47,227 units on a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis.
Year to date total industry volume was up a creditable 21% year-on-year to 379,184 units, but numbers have been retreating considerably by 25.9% in the first six months of 2008 and 24.9% from January to July this year.
