The new Audi A4 1.8T was unveiled on the 26th June 2008 in Malaysia by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.
Powered by 1.8Litre turbocharged 4-cylinder FSI engine produces a massive 160bhp and maximum torque of 250Nm at a low 1,500rpm making it a saloon with loads of muscles for the road. Fuel efficiency has been improved by 13 % from the previous model.
The transmission is controlled by the 8-speed Multitronic CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) gearbox, which can be shift either on the gear knob or the steering-mounted paddle shifters.
The new A4 has an Audi Drive Select technology that adjusts the operating characteristics of the engine, transmission, steering and suspensions to suit to the driver’s preferences.
The body of the A4 is much lighter than its predecessor and is more aero-dynamic. Weight has been shed, too, in the suspension, steering, wheels and brakes but rigidly enhanced to take the blow of sporty driving. Rear trunk space has 480 litres to store is by far larger than any competitors in its segment as well.
Combining entertainment and communication technologies, the A4 has the Audi Infotainment System to keep its occupants amused, and a Bluetooth system for wireless connectivity.
The A4 Standard is priced at RM235,000 while the S-Line gets the sportier attire including leather with cloth-trimmed seats, exterior bodykit and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/45/R18 tyres, at a price of RM260,000.
